odd car question

Is it hard to get diesel and how much is it usually?

Me and the wife are planning on moving to St. Thomas and would like to bring my 4x4 Diesel Excursion. Just not sure how great of an idea that is. I know about the road tax by weight and all that and am ok with the fees to get it there. Just not sure how manageable it is on the island.

Diesel, not a problem here on STX.

I drive one of about 3 Excursions (that I know) here on STX.

Be aware that the tax on the vehicle weight will be much higher initially, but annual license fees are much lower than the states.

CD

Ya I saw the vehicle tax of $0.16 per lbs. and with the total weight got a rough figure of $1200-$1300 area and I am ok with that to keep my truck (I love it).

Well I'd like to thank everyone, i think I've got my answer! now as far as the rust issue... i grew up in the north east so in that respect I'd like to think it's and equally harsh environment to metal! But then i hope to have time on my hands and its a fine reason to tinker!

oh, everything rusts

1996 Accord - no rust.

2003 Dodge Ram - no rust.

In the VI since new.

These cars get washed regularly every 3 - 4 months. or less often. :@)

i was not specifically talking about cars. we also have a care without rust.
