I have Medicaid (MAP) and am looking for a OB/GYN or Midwife that accepts it

St Croix, I don't have a phone book and was hoping to hear peoples opinions as well on their doctors during pregnancy

Shannan Calhoun- Nurse practitioner/midwife in princess, next door to food town.
She is the best! Not sure if she takes midicaid. Call and find out.

I don't think any forum participants are knowledgeable about Medicaid. Best to contact Dept of Human Services for recommendations since I think Medicaid falls under their services. Check phone book.

Thank you all, I made an appt at the Frederiksted health clinic in princess. They accept map and do sliding scale for uninsured.

Maybe I'm wrong and maybe I'm out of line but it seems from your previous posts that you've only been in the USVI a very short time and came with just enough money to get set up with the basics but with no reserve once that was done. I think you said in one post that you and your significant other are both working full time but you do seem to have problems making ends meet financially and the fact that you're eligible for Medicare would seem to confirm that.

Now that you're expecting a child, have you thought of returning stateside? At the very least you're covered there under the AFA and you would surely benefit from the help of family once your child is born. If you can't get by now on two incomes, it's going to be really tough with a baby in the picture. Hope you've given it some thought.
