I've heard the nursing shortage in the USVI is critical and have seen job postings in St Thomas and St. Croix for certified nurse midwives. I'd be interested in speaking to any CNMs out there who have experience working on either island. Thanks. Susan

Hello Susan,

Here is a comment I had gotten from a nurse in the St. Thomas hospital concerning a request for feedback concerning traveling nurses working in er.

"I would recommend that the person come as a traveller and then could decide of she wants to stay-I feel that both areas are good places to work and my experience with statesiders working with the local nurses has been cooperative-I also know that how you treat others tends to be the way you are treated-Hope that helps"

E-mail me directly and I will forward your inquiry to this nurse and perhaps you can communicate with her about your concerns

Islander-
I just found out that I will be moving to STX in August. I am 41/2 months pregnant and would like the names of registered nurse midwives on the island. Do you have any info. about the hospital on STX? I have heard mixed reviews.
Thanks Diana
