No STX for Jet Blue?
Looks like Jet Blue are pushing the Caribbean, but not STX? Are the local government not talking to Jet Blue's management?
Must say, I would have thought this would have been a perfect opportunity to capitalize on the probably increasing domestic tourism??
Jetblue was already serving STX but couldn't make a go of it. Then, Spirit came along and took whatever profit was left.
The airlines are hemorrhaging cash so it's my guess is no one is going to proactively add flights to anywhere until there is clear data that demand is actually recovering and that the pandemic is truly under control. Too many false starts to the beginnings of a tourism recovery. We're all subject to the whims of our political class at the moment and thus far their batting average isn't very good. Some so called experts are now saying it will be 2026 before travel gets back to 2019 levels. I'm hoping they are very wrong as it's hurting the local economy.
AA has added back the second MIA to STX flight starting Oct 7, albeit on smaller equipment. I don't know how they are filling the morning flight as it is, too early for connections in MIA. You've got to either leave from MIA or come in the day before. Not fun getting into STX at 11PM at night.
