I really don't know, Check out there website. They claim it will be. I think you can contact them. Hopefully it isn't just a joke to stir up the taxi association.

It was supposed to be affordable so Mapp decided to tax the crap out of it. He felt the prices were too low and the people could afford to pay a little more. Hes calling it "sintaxi"

but what about the taxi drivers, how have they not put a stop to this yet? they have to everything else that cramps their money making

Great to see this initiative and about time someone took on the taxi mafia. But what will really happen once this is up and running is that Uber will come in and take over. Which isn't a bad thing either. Keep in mind Uber is operating very successfully right next door in Puerto Rico.

This is indicative of the huge changes in store for the VI once the money runs out and others are calling the shots.

I think it would be great as it's very difficult to get a taxi to come to your residence to take you ANYWHERE or back to your residence from ANYWHERE.

Wonder if they would allow them pick up and drop off at the airport where the taxis have concessions?

The taxi associations will fight this tooth and nail.
Our illustrious senators will probably side with the taxi associations as that's a big chunk of their voter base. Remember, they sided with the taxi associations over allowing operating small boat ferries in the downtown STT areas.

Finding drivers won't be a problem with the healthy number of gypsy taxis around the place(tu)

All the government workers looking at pay cuts can subsidize their income.
