New restaurant in Deano's old location! STT
Thought I would share on this forum that the original owners of Indigo's are reopening a new place!
They are taking over Deano's and will be opeping sometime mid January! The name will be 13.
This should be good news for many locals!
They are changing the whole interior and all torn apart at this very moment. Can't wait to see what it will look like.
We are very excited!
"13" is going to be the name of it ?
We are watching it every day ... it's the closest place to home, so we are very excited and anxious for it to open as well !
Thanks for the update Sherri!
13 Iguanas?
13 Different Restaurant locations?
13 Hard Bodies on the Wait Staff?
What does 13 stand for?
13 bottles of beer on the wall ?
13 dollars per meal ?
13 dinner tables ?
13 bar stools ?
open 13 hours per day ?
*-)
Hmmm? Back in my old hippie days, 13 stood for the letter M. This is not meant to start the thread again on legalization. Nowadays, it's only "cheers" for me.
where is Deano's? The new Indigo has gotten very pricey! We don't go as much as we used to.
On the North side. Past 4 corners, (heading west), just a bit past Friendly's grocery store...
I was wondering what 13 meant too!
Guess we'll have to wait for the opening to find out! They painted the exterior black..... also interesting. Hmmmmm.
Forgot to ask if they are going to have Mojitos. Shame on me!
Route 33 or known as Crown Mountain Rd.
Sherri,
I've seen several of your posts on 13 are you an owner or a part owner in the restaurant?
Yes noticed they painted it black...first the primer and it was all white...but now black...not to appealing for an exterior color for a restaurant. Noticed they haven't painted the lattice or removed the grungy Heinken lighted sign. Other than paint it looks like the ol LuLu's Deanos..and soon to be 13.
Black is an excellent base color for a mural. Extensive interior work is being done - second bathroom added - open arches in walls - modern kitchen - walkin cooler for food etc. --
It has never been a particularly attractive building on the exterior - it was a house for years and was basically still a house when Hazel opened it as a restaurant . Some fine folks got their food reputation and name made there over the years - Banana Tree [Entre Nous] - Craig and Sallys - Oceana -- all have emerged from that single location.
I seriously doubt Sherri has a financial stake in 13. Like many of us she is simply an enthusiastic patron of the former Indigo. The owners of 13 have a history of selling great food for a fair price in a pleasant atmosphere, so it is natural for people to want to follow the progress of their newest endeavor.
Anybody know the answer yet as to why the name will be 13 ?
Inquiring minds want to know 🙂
dntw8up,
You are right on!
Simply very excited about these people opening, they have an EXCELLENT reputation Island wide!
The owner's names are over on the tourist forum, STT Resident mentions them.
I will see what I can find out as to WHY they are naming the restaurant 13, but not sure when I will get the chance.
This truly is exciting news!
Hey Sherri!
I was in Plaza on Sunday, saw a copy of the local real estate magazine, and Indigo appears to be back on the market! Perhaps the new owners erred in "fixing" something that wasn't broken and are displeased with the fiscal results?
From what i understand #13 is the physical address!!!
dntw8up,
From what I understand the original owners of Indigo wanted out. They didn't like the fact that they HAD to be open 7 days a week....lunch and dinner due to being located at a resort. This is a very demanding business as we all know. They will be in more control now of the hours they want to choose and I doubt they will do lunch at all due to the new location. We'll see.
I never got to the new Indigo..... One simple reason, Bluwater hasn't been down since the takeover and because what made Indigo was the menu and the original owners, obviously.
I am surprised that Indigo is back up for sale. Guess the current owners decided they better stick with just doing Old Stone.
I don't believe Indigo is up for sale. The new owner purchased a business lease in the transaction....currently up for sale is the units read the ad closely.
The ad shows the interior of Shin Sen (the business lease) but claims 150 seats (Shin Sen is crammed when there are more than a couple dozen patrons), which suggests Indigo (the only other restaurant) is included in the sale.
