New Police Commissioner
Pickup thing varies from state to state. Many states have outlawed anyone riding in back. But where's the seatbelt on a motorcycle? When I was a kid in Texas it was you had to be over 14 to ride in the back. No idea if it changed.
I personally disagree with seatbelt laws, riding in the back of the truck laws etc., especially when they apply to adults. If you want to ride in an unsafe manner that is YOUR business. You are the one that get's hurt by such behavior and in a free country you should have that right. Not to mention that a little Darwinism goes a long way.
HOWEVER I wish they would pass laws that limit my liability if I hit you and you aren't belted in. IOW, you can't sue me for a million dollars because you got injured without a seatbelt on. That DOES affect me and is the proper place for the law to step in to protect me from your stupidity.
