Why would anyone with good business sense open a chicken place for the third time in the same location after two failures? If it didn't work the first two times , why would it work now? Especially with the current economic state of the island?
This doesn't make any sense to me at all! I don't get it. I hope they prove me so wrong. I would hate to see another place go under.
If it is owned by the Middle Eastern community, like the ones before it, they will keep trying...that community does not give up on St. Croix. There are some lessons to be learned there. Look at what is being done with the former Schooner Bay Market, for example...solar panels, paved parking lot, etc.
I think those guys have great business sense 🙂
Fathi Yusuf (Plaza Extra) started out with a little shoe store across from the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Christiansted. He never ran away, never gave up.
Google indicates the "parent company" is based out of Louisiana and have locations all over the U.S. The manager, or "trainer" of the STX location is from Louisiana and is "visiting" STX while training the employees. Definitely a "franchise" based on what I've researched. Don't know who the local franchise owner owner is. Seems like they got their permits and everything in place rather quickly.

And Foodtown was a hardware store before it was Foodtown, a True Value I think, and I think they had something else in there before that,(possibly a furniture place?) but I could be mistaken about that. Same people, but they finally found the right mix.
ok, so we had the chicken yesterday. great food but 20 bucks for 8 pieces- a little high cost for chicken. it was very moist and tasty though
Hard to beat half chicken and a Johnny cake for $5 at laReine chicken shack! But when you want fried chicken, you want fried chicken!!!
true but blue water has a special on friday buy one/get one free of their fried chicken. will see what that is all about
We've been there twice this week, grabbing something quick for dinner on our way home from work. We're working our way through the menu, really enjoyed the Cajun chicken strips, the catfish was ok - we had our orders to go and it sat in the bag for a while before we got around to eating. My husband likes the corn on the cob, I didn't care for it - battered and fried, how could I not like that? Tonight we had the fried shrimp ... YUM! Haven't tried the corn dogs, jalapeño poppers, egg rolls, wings or fried chicken yet, we'll need to pace ourselves. Didn't seem outrageous in price to me, and the cashier girl has been very friendly and helpful both times. I am hopeful for their success, it's certainly a tough business to be in.
they have jalapeno poppers? have you tried the ones from the restaurant at mill harbor condos? they have the best poppers ever
Chicken shack raise the price to $6.50 for the half chicken and 2 johnny cake deal.
Still the best deal on island.
Well, I tried to eat there again yesterday. Tried. Got there at 11:30 AM Saturday and they were still setting up. Said they were behind schedule. Owner probably forgot that he told me the same thing the two previous times I went there to eat. I suggested that he put a sign on his door with the hours of operation instead of an OPEN sign which was there. He didn't seem too concerned.
went there friday, the chicken was awesome but the fried okra tasted like it had been sitting out since last week and one order was only about 15 pieces ( small ). can not remember the price but really terrible for what you got, which was crap
Anyone tried the cinnamon rolls? They were pretty good (fresh and warm) a couple weeks ago when I tried one.
KrispyKrunchy is the franchise that is in the quick shop gas stations around me in Kentucky. I've never tried it but now I will. And, looking forward to having some this winter!
you should like the chicken
Do they have all the dipping sauces listed on their website? I will just close my eyes, get a chicken biscuit and pretend it is Bojangles, Hardees or Chik Fil A.
It looks like Krispy Krunchy Chicken is dead. No signs of life there for a few months now.
Not surprised at all.
i liked the chicken, but after the altercation is when it closed, i think
Please...can we have a Burger King there this time???
Burger King??? I won't even eat at one here in AZ.
An In-N-Out Burger would be much better.

Nope. Burger King does not work on STX. It failed twice.
Franchise owners from PR were absentee owners and the efforts
to unionized killed it two times.
i would love a roy rogers . they have the best fast food burgers and roast beef of any of them
I'd like to see a Popeye's
I want Trader Joe's!
I want Red Lobster and a Walmart!
