New chicken place at 5 Corners
Had lunch from there today--fast service, really good well seasoned chicken.
Worth a try.
Leo's is back?
Too bad it wasn't a Burger King or an Arby's.
Hubby picked up chicken & biscuits from the new place yesterday. It was good. Found out from someone behind the counter that it's a franchise, not Leo's.
No, not Leo's--this place is good.......
Come on. Fair shake. Leo's wasn't bad.
Far less chance of a dose of the runs than mickydees!
Happy and upbeat employees, good fried chicken. I hope they can keep it that way and pay the bills!!!
Sorry- I thought Leo's was awful. Apparently a lot of others did as well since it was only in business a few months.....
Ah how the islands change. The only place I can think of that is pretty much the same as it was in the 80s is Hull Bay...
leo's had good salads. good wings, too bad they closed. good luck to the new owners
i liked leo's wings
Is the new place in the space where Leo's was?
Yes, it is in the same place as Leo's
Nice surprise, I'll try it. When I'd driven by a month or so ago, I thought it was a campaign headquarters.
I liked Leo's, too, and was sorry to see them leave. It seemed like the owner really wanted it to be successful, I've wondered what caused them to close.
I hope the new peeps are successful ... it's definitely not easy.
Leo's was awful, IMO. Chicken tasted like fish and fish tasted like the chicken. Obviously they used the same oil to fry everything. Waffle fries were always soggy. How many more chicken places does STX need? Wish them lots of luck.
My partner and I tried the place last night, and it was pretty good. We had the cajun chicken strips and biscuits. For those not sure where this place is, it is at Five Corners and next to the auto parts store.
Here's the company's website: http://www.krispykrunchy.com/menu/
They have corn dogs. =P
Had a 3 pc. meal there today. Chicken was good. Rice and beans were good.
But my eat-in order was put in a paper bag.
Growing pains.......
Too bad it wasn't a Burger King or an Arby's.
Burger King's hashbrowns doe!! (/._.)/
:@)
looked them up on the web, they have a lot of locations in the states
Why would anyone with good business sense open a chicken place for the third time in the same location after two failures? If it didn't work the first two times , why would it work now? Especially with the current economic state of the island?
This doesn't make any sense to me at all! I don't get it. I hope they prove me so wrong. I would hate to see another place go under.
I love chicken. I never went to the other two because I heard poor first hand reviews. Because of what I read here, I gave them a shot and I'll be going back again.
Just because there were 2 failures doesn't mean this will fail.
You can't succeed unless you take a chance and believe in yourself and your abilities.
krispy krunchy locations are usually in roadside gas stations. on another note: the last thing this island needs is another fried chicken eatery. after the novelty wears off, people will probably revert to more healthy options.
We went there the other day, unknowing it was their opening day. I thought it was a campaign headquarters also. Excellent service & upbeat staff...had the Cajun chicken strips, jambalaya, & biscuits. Large beer selection also; I was quite surprised at that. We thought it was an excellent value and do plan to return, although I agree we will have to limit our visits because it's not the healthiest of choices. But when you're tired after a long workday, don't feel like cooking, and don't want to have to take out a mortgage just to eat out, it's a pretty good option.
...and don't want to have to take out a mortgage just to eat out..
story of my life. =)
Tried it today... not bad, smiles all around. 8)
