Never homeschooled, can anyone tell me how to get going?
We are considering homeschooling for 3-4 months until we get established and then start the 3 kids at Antilles. I have NO idea how to get this started. Any info would be very appreciated.
I assume that the laws are different there, than in California, so I want to get this going doing things the STT way, not researching this to death only to find out it's all different on the island.
Thank You Very Much,
Allison
Your move is going to be a huge adjustment for your kids. Do you really want to try to start to home school at the same time?
Allison: There are other schools besides Antilles.;) Montessori has a very good reputation. Also, All Saint's Cathedral School and St Peter and Paul's. I would think that all that prep work for only 3 months would be tough.... There are home schoolers on this board, well at least one former home schooler, so maybe you will get a more direct answer.
Thank you and no, I definitely don't want to take on anymore than we will, just want the kids not to lose weeks of school before we can get them set up into a private school.
Appreciate it!
If you would like to PM me I would be happy to help. I am home schooling our 10th grader here on island.
Laurel Springs is the best I've heard of. It's an online program based on the California schools. Pretty inexpensive, and offers an excellent curriculum. Your kids basically do it themselves. Many celebrities use LS to educate their children since they move around a lot.
