I'm posting this here rather than the Classified page with the hopes of getting more in depth local input.
My wife & I live on STX. She is currently in the hospital on STT. At some time this week we expect she will start receiving treatments that are considered outpatient treatments. Because of this we expect she wil be discharged from the hospital once treatments begin. The daily treatments won't take long. So most of our time each day will be spent at "home". Home, in this is case, will be a rental of some sort. Hopefully a one bedroom apartment. I was told to plan for at least a two month stay. The hospital referred us to one hotel with apartment type rentals. But I stayed there last week and didn't feel it to be condusive with maintaining a positive attitude during treatments.
So we're in need of a clean, safe, cheery, furnished apartment for the next two months - without having to pay vacation rates. It does not need to be near the hospital. Any ideas or leads from our neighbors on STT would be greatly appreciated.

Can you say where you stayed so we can have an idea of a place you didn't think was suitable?

I prefer not to name the place just yet as i may end up having to use it as a last resort. You never know who reads here. I will say up front the people who work there were friendly and very helpful. I got the feeling they're trying to work on their shortcomings. But can do only so much at a time. But yes, I will name it at a later time.

I think islandlola had a rental advertised a few days ago???? I don't know where it was, but she has a rental unit with a view to take your breath away! It would be a great place to enjoy that positive attitude you mentioned! There's even a pool. Anyway, if she doesn't see this and jump in, do a search for her for the last month. Oh, it has the added benefit of being fairly close to the hospital.

Thanks for the plug, Juanita and ms411. We have a two bedroom home available for short term rent posted at http://virgin.craigslist.org/sub/2101523074.html If looking for immediate short term occupancy or long term occupancy on this property we may be able to do arranging to create an opening.
We did have a one bedroom cottage available for March 1, posted at http://virgin.craigslist.org/apa/2146418361.html
The cottage was recently taken, however. We may have a one bedroom opening early in summer.
