keep an eye on it! If it's a brown recluse spider bite, it will grow and develop necrotic tissue around it and you'll need medical attention.

From what I've read or heard, a brown recluse bite will swell up right away. I thought I was bit by a recluse and went to the doctor right away. She said I would have a big swollen area within a short amount of time. Like within an hour

Brown recluse bites don't always swell right away. If you have a strong stomach, google "brown recluse bite" images. You can get a really good idea of what that spider can do. For the itching and/ swelling: benadryl or possibly Claritin. Tylenol for the pain. Do NOT use corticosteroid creams. If the area becomes infected or increasingly painful or begins to become necrotic, see your MD right away.

As you describe your bite, it reminded me how it felt to be bit by a centipede. Even little ones hurt and fell like a bee sting and itch like crazy.
