Need furniture
I am furnishing a home here on STX. I need to furnish the whole house new or used. Any suggestions?
Uniquities - Just sent some stuff over there this week for work.
I'm outfitting a new condo. After much research on and off island, we've opted to get the whole shooting match from Ikea in Lauderdale and ship it down. We couldn't find enough of what we liked on island and Ikea's prices are tough to beat.

Please take this as a fair warning- don't get me wrong, I love ikea, but
The problem with Ikea is that most of it is press-board. It does not stand up to stx conditions or against the tropical bugs - powder beetles, termites, roaches, etc.
I recently had our press-board kitchen cabinet door fall on my head. The metal joints rusted and the Moisture in the air made the wood warp and actually disintegrate the little pieces of the press-board.
If you're not looking for a long-term solution it can probably be fine. But expect those little pieces of wood to come apart in your hand every time you open a drawer.
My on island favorites are Sampson House and Sweet Lime.
Thanks--I'm definitely aware of this. I did a lot of research before settling on IKEA. We are buying only furniture that is made of solid wood--which, admittedly, is very hard to find there. I think there's only one line (the name escapes me) that is made of solid pine. That should help the longevity at least somewhat.
But we're also realistic and know that we'll probably have to replace some pieces at some point.
