Need bird Vet for Parrot African Gray.
Are there any Vets who take care of Birds, I have a African Gray that I need to have checked.
Which island? On STT, both Dr. Moore in Red Hook or Dr. Williamson take care of birds.
Hello,
Thanks, I did forget to say it is Stt. I tried Dr. Williamson because he is the vet for my dogs but does not do birds.
I will try Dr. Moore. I came here about 5 years ago with my parrot who has been very healthy, since then , what I thought was a male has just layed a couple of eggs hence he is a she. Who Knew.
There is a bird lady on STT. Her name is Shawn. I don't know her number, but she does bird shows at Paradise Point. They may be closed this time of year, but you could try to reach her through them. Also, I bet someone here will read this and come up with her number, or a least a last name, so you could call her. She's not a vet, but she can tell you who she uses. Couldn't Dr. Williamson's office refer you to someone? Try the Humane Society, too. One more idea, Coral World has birds. They must have a vet they use.
There is a pet store in Bovoni. I think the name is Fine Feathers (I could be so wrong.) They specialize in birds and reptiles.
I saw a big blue Macaw at Dr. Williamson's. Maybe he was just boarding it. I know he took care of an injured goose. Anyway, I have Shawn's number. I'll PM it to you.
I also have an African Grey that lay eggs a few times a year, right now she has 2. The vet we had in Florida told us to let her keep them, she usually have them for about 28 days. If you pull them she just keep on laying more. Give her cooked broccoli and youghurt so she gets calcium. Good Luck.

We had a quaker parrot we thought was male until she started laying eggs. We were also told to let her keep them so she would lay more.
