Greetings everyone,

Meet NASA's Mars Rover, "Curiosity," - a car size rover - scheduled to launch from Cape Canaveral Space Launch Station Complex 41 in Florida aboard United Launch Alliance Atlas V Rocket for her journey to Mars:

Launch Date: Saturday, Nov. 26th
Launch Time: 10:02 AM EST
Arrival at Mars: August 2012
Scientific exploration duration - (1 year Martian ; 2 years Earth).
Launch schedule Confidence @70% (re: weather)

Just an update:
"Curiosity" is on her 7-month journey to Mars; liftoff was a success at 10:02 AM EST.as scheduled.
Congratulations, NASA and the TEAM!

i thought this was a neat simulation. especially the landing when the jets blast out after it's dropped. so neat.

Spectacular! Thank you for sharing this great video! Cute, isn't she?

Great work, JPL! Like 'Spirit' and 'Opportunity'' - our two rovers on Mars that gave years -unexpectedly- to NASA's Mars research program and that are still in operation -(Spirit is operating as a stationary platform and Opportunity is still moving about up there) - let's hope 'Curiosity' also surprises us with a long life of research. We will look forward to her landing next August!
