One of the Troupe's that I photographed during Carnival was a famous one that has been around for many years. Now led by Charles Matthew's it's called Indians. However I somehow think it was Indians and something, or something and Indians? I want to title it correctly on my almost completed re-deux on my webstite. Lots of new images have been added including my tiny apt next to the sea. I'll not offer anything for sale from the site. Might be a good place to visit for those wondering what the island looks like other than the touristy/pretty beach shots.......I explore the inner beauty and reality of the place - a positive reality.

Any regulars able to enlighten me on the correct name of this Carnival Troupe?

I think it's Traditional Indians but wait until someone either verifies this or corrects me.

Paul,

I love the new pics! May I say the name of your website? I saw you had a pic of Zulu man who does some crazy performing. Don't ask how I know, but he also does some strip dancing on the side in the same costume! (some local girls took me to some wild parties, let me tell you!)

I love the pics of your island apartment with the labeling. The arrow of the path of the no-see-ums was hilarious! Take care.

Yes on St John.

Interestingly, they have a program on one of the HD stations called Festivals of the World and the St Thomas carnival was highlighted and they interviewed one of the Traditional Indians.

For some reason I can't see the photo? Can I get a direct link to the site?
My daughter and I are in the Traditional Indians, this will be our 3rd parade. Here's a link to my jouvert, children's and adults parade from last year: http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2106815000

Ah, yes, I was missing the TRADITIONAL part. The link to my website is: http://www.bastenphoto.com and click on the link to the FUN gallery to see the Traditional Indians photo - now correctly titled.

Are you sure that's Traditional Indians? Looks more like Zulus to me. Also, this year Jesters are coming up dressed as Indians!
