Well my son and I did a pMV to STT late May to look at schools for him. We looked at 2 public, and 3 private. he was ready to kill me for msaking him wear noce clothes in 90 deg heat! I on the other hand am still waiting for the VI Dept of Education to fax the contract to the company in Fl I will be working for. We loved the weather, the Crystal Palace, thanks for everything Ronnie!, the dollar safari buses and Coral World. My son of course loved the Antilles School, no uniforms there and the school is beautiful. We had one incident that ended up ok but found out about the wait for things. Three hours in the Police Station to get a copy of a report. Thanks to this site I guess I figured that was normal. Now I can understand why it takes 5 days to fax a sheet to Fl from STT!
The people were very friendly and for the most part helpful with directions, stupid questions etc. I found food prices not too bad I used to live on Cape Cod for 16 summers so it is comparable to that. Things did disappear off the shelves fast though. We looked minimally at housing but did look at the island in general to see where we liked. We definately found several areas to stay away from. We are still hoping to move down in late August if the Dept of Education can get its act together. I anyone has a rental about that time I would love to hear about it. Need a safe place for me and my son
Thanks for all the info from theis board

Thank you Lynne for sharing. Which schools did you look at, would you like to share your thoughts - its a popular topic.

I read about the incident you had and the police dept. - terriable. So sorry that happened.

All the best with your plans.
