Maxwell House Dark Roast coffee and Jujyfruits for my hubby. When I have friends that leave the rock for the states or when friends visit, we ask for this staple that is easy to pack and light.

what do you ask for?

I don't usually ask for anything, but if someone happens to bring back a box of Krispy Kreme's, well....

Not long after Homeland Security started up, hubby was bringing back with a couple of boxes of KK's. He practically had to fight his way onto the plane. They weren't going to let him on because some of them were jelly filled, and jelly is a "liquid". Seriously! They finally gave in and let him on. I think it cost him a doughnut or two.

I have a neighbor that took four USPS flat rate priority boxes and stuffed them with sweet corn from the states. He duct taped them like crazy and mailed them to himself. He said they arrived in perfect condition 😀

Marlene, I saw the other day at Plaza extra West the Maxwell house dark, they wanted $16 for a big jug of it. It's in the bulk isle. I like the Med/dark Maxwell house which is hard to find. Sometimes I can find it at Kmart west.

I always ask my guests that come from MD. to bring me a bag of UTZ Crab potato chips. They are so damn good.

Better Cheddars is another hard to find item. It's even hard to find in the states. So much better than a Cheez-It

I'll second this! Next summer if I have guests from MD I'm going to try to get them to bring the actual Blue Crabs too!

Maybe a bag of the Old Bay seasoning from OC, Bethany or Rehoboth crab steamers... I go crazy with it. It's great on tomatoes and sweet corn. But, if you're sunburnt, you have to wash it off the lips with lots of cold beer.

Is the Old Bay different from what you can get here?

My parents came last month and brought me Matzah ball mix, I'm waiting on a flat-rate box of girl scout cookies right now.
My husband asks anyone flying Delta (through ATL) to pick up chik-fil-a for him.

Where I live at in Alaska some of the good treats are also hard to get, the most important are TASTYKAKES. People from MD, PA and a few other states know how good they are... You can order them online, but shipping is crazy expensive.

I was a manager at Trader Joe's for 7+ years before moving here, so any new goodies from there.

My wife thinks it is the same Old Bay that you can buy in the stores. But, she adds, that you probably can't just sprinkle it on potato chips and get the same flavor... that would not be the same as adding the spice to the frying process.

For me Red Vine licorice (no other brand will do), and yeah yeah yeah... I know, but I hate black licorice. Whatever. 🙂

For my hubby I always try to get a special packed jar of La Victoria Salsa Ranchera Hot. Brownie points for days. 🙂

When I travel stateside myself, I always bring home the latest package mixes, curries, desserts or other non perishables from whatever fabulous grocery store I get to shop in. I also love to go to the craft super stores and load up with entertainment!

Cains bread and butter pickles --- thin, crunchy, sweet - and I have never ever seen them here (STT).

Maple syrup from NH or Vermont

Boxes of rice like Zatarains and Near East (which is half the price it is here)

After Eight dinner mints

Orville Redenbacher microwave popcorn with NO BUTTER.

Dunkin Donuts coffee

.... and last but not least .................................... pistachios !

Now I'm hungry 😀
