musical instrument stores/hey ronnie!
Hey everyone,We too, as alot of recent postings, have an arrival date, oct 4th! will be coming down from fairbanks alaska to start up the new home depot. I have a question that i cant find the answer to anywhere! Are there many, if any, musical instrument stores on St. Thomas? such as guitar shops with fender, gibson.etc...being a musician this would be very helpful to not have to order from musicians friend magazine and such. Do these stores have any web sites to check out?? I wouldnt really think they would, but worth a try.
I have read many postings on this board and all have been very helpful, I hope that the locals dont think that we are all coming to clutter up the place, haha! I have lived in alaska for almost 13 years now, 2 of them in a cabin in the woods with no running water. the closest city is 6 hours away, (besides us that is) internet shopping is the norm up here. Also spent 7 years on okinawa island, I know that whatever the challenges may be there I will try to adapt! If I could get used to 50 below zero temp's and constant darkness for most of the year I think i will learn to live with hurricanes and attacking wild donkeys!! haha! I dont mean to sound like you all dont have your own day to day problems, im just really excited to get to somewhere that is warm for longer than 3 months! Anyway...blah blah ..Ronnie!! how are you? Having a hard time selling the car to pay for rooms just yet, How booked up do you get around this time of year? we will be paying for the rooms asap!! We have amassed a small following with us since we started our plans! a small migration of alaskans will be coming in oct! we might need 3 rooms? heres a good question, are we allowed to talk about business on this board? its cheaper than the phone, thanks for all answers, hope to meet you all soon!

Hope some rooms will be available then! Seems like you guys will need a house! You have my email, notify me when you are ready! How many are coming to open Home Depot? Thought they are supposed to be hiring local. I know they will need some experienced people to do training, so how many are you?
Ronnie
Oops, by the way, yes there is a music store.

The only place I know about is Electronics Unlimited in Tutu (in what's called Four Winds Plaza, I think, it's near the Pueblo that's closing). They stock a wide assortment of high end A/V equipment and musical equipment like amps, speakers and DJ gear at least. I believe they also have guitars but I'm not positive. Ronnie may be speaking of another store.
hey Ronnie! 6 may be coming all together, most likely 4. Just me coming to open home depot, they usually bring in people for management and or people who really make the effort to get themselves down there (me). I do kitchen cabinet design so there are not a whole lot of people with my job in each store , about 3 or 4. Hope to sell the car soon and pre-book the rooms, dont want to risk you being booked up! thanks for the music store info, thanks crib, thanks everyone for any more answers!

Just let me know when you decide. Things are booked up!
Carib: The store is in Havensight Mall, the building behind Delly Deck.

Hello,
The music shoppe II has musical instruments thats in Havensight... there is a Musical Instrument Dealer listed in the phone book as Band instruments... not sure if they have a store - perhaps they order large quantities for the local school bands and stuff - not sure. They also seem to do repairs. And there is a store in St. Croix whic you can e-mail at cmgvi@yahoo.com perhaps that would be closer for ordering things or give you an excuse for a day trip to St. Croix.

ronnie, your totally booked up for the begining of oct ????

Never totally booked up, I never know. The rooms could all be taken at the time of your arrival. People are coming and going all the time. If you don't reserve, it gets difficult. Email me directly.
