Mt. Welcome Holiday Event a Bust?

I went to the Mt. Welcome event last night but found it pretty disappointing.

There was lots of noise from the band and such but very few people attending.

Why was this event held on a different night than the very popular Gallows Bay Holiday Festival?

I know a lot of people who were confused.

How come Schooner Bay Market can afford to buy and sell Christmas trees but can't put food in the shelves to sell?

Just wondering.

Gallows Bay event on 12/12/12 will be great! Santa for kids/ The Bistro providing treats/ Bookstore open/ all the businesses setting up treats. Oh and Moko Jumbie's/vendors! ! Great parking and all very festive!

It is my understanding that the owners of Schooner Bay refuse to participate in the annual Gallows Bay Holiday Festival. They wanted to separate GB into East vs. West instead of having one large family friendly community event.

Might have something to do with the fact that the owners of Gallows Bay kind of screwed them.

Two sides to every story.

The holiday festival is a family friendly community event for all merchants in the area, not just for Gallows Bay Hardware or by GBH. Actually, it has been organized and spearheaded predominantly by The Bistro & Undercover Books for the past couple of years. As Linda said, there are two sides to every story and them being the ones screwed is not the version I heard. I don't really care. I think it was a petty decision to intentionally create a division in the community regardless of the reasons.

always three sides to a story, but yeah i agree. we can't always believe what we hear. i do agree it was a petty move on their behalf not to participate when the rest of gb does

Speed, lol, you're right - three sides, mine, yours and what really happened.
