What is the best place to work as a bartender on St. Thomas? Fun atmosphere, steady business are a must, and location within reasonable distance of Char-Amal. would be nice.

Also, where should I look to live? beachfront would be nice, and safety is paramount.

Thanks

IMO there is no "best" place to work. There are soo many to choose from and they all stay busy. The Greenhouse is right there in town. Then again, there are a few of them that might work for you: Greenhouse, Hard Rock Cafe, Happy Buzzard, Coconuts, Tavern on the Waterfront, Epernay, Betsy's, Hook, Line & Sinker, the list just goes on and on...and that's just in the Charlotte Amalie/Frenchtown area!

Beachfront accomodations are going to be outrageously priced for a bartender...even for the owner of the bar! Haha! Seriously, though, most of the beaches have 1.) a hotel on them, or 2.) nothing on them. Dorthea might work for you...or Secret Harbor condos...or Watergate condos...or Cowpet...or Sapphire...shoot, now that I think of it, beachfront/waterfront isn't all that bad! Why do I live so high up?!? Haha!

Safety is what you make of it. Just use your head and you won't have any trouble. If you get an uncomfortable feeling in the day time while looking at the apartment, you probably don't want to live there. Personally, I prefer the Northside....but that's just me. I'm sure every area has proponents.
