Hi! Though I fully realize this is a long shot and that I will likely have a better chance of finding a car once I'm down there, I thought I would give this a shot.
I will be arriving in St Thomas (final destination STJ) on October 31st 2011 and was wondering if any one had plans to leave STT or STJ around that time and have a car they were looking to sell? I am looking for a Jeep Wrangler in particular but would consider any small to mid sized SUV with 4x4.
Still considering shipping a car down there, but the shipping costs in most cases makes it a deal breaker in most cases so any leads would be great!

Thanks for the advice! Although this was never my intent. I guess the main reason I will have an easier time finding a car once down there is that I fully plan to test drive/ inspect and likely take the car to a mechanic before purchasing. Just thought that if I could get an idea of what was out there it might make for a quicker and smoother process once I'm on island.
But again, thanks for the advice! Its much appreciated.

There's a lot that never makes it to Craigslist and won't make it to these message boards, either. Most vehicles for sale on STJ are in this category. Local trade and word of mouth means we just don't need much else, unless no one local wants to pay the price desired. Then Craigslist sometimes gets a higher price from buyers who can't be on island. Most people won't deal with you till you're here, though. Good luck!
