Moving to USVI and have a couple of questions
Location, location means not much in the USVI where home insurance is concerned and your general summation is incorrect and misleading. Apples and oranges. Alana is a real estate agent and is correct. When you actually live here, many incorrect assumptions are quickly corrected!
excuse me??
location in FL has everything to do with the cost of property insurance - that was the discussion topic.
Alana and I were not discussing VI insurance.
again, i did not see the answer by the op
I have the option of living on either island. /quote]
There wasn't a question asked about the proposed purchase of new cars, but information given:
"If you're planning on buying two new cars to ship here and they're being financed, make sure that the lender will allow you to bring the vehicles here. Most don't. "

Excuse what? You said, ""Home owners insurance is about the same for me in FL" which was construed as being a generality when the discussion is about COL in the USVI.

It is not a generality - it is a fact my property insurance is about the same in the VI and FL. Poster was asking about COL between VI and FL. Since I pay for property insurance in both FL and the VI, I think I can comment on this with some accuracy.

2,000 sf living area 5 year old house 1 mile from the ocean (Apollo Beach) $682.00 home coverage, $450.00 flood.
BUT the property tax counters that savings. Even with Homestead exemption, $3,000 to the state + $2000 CDD fee. Per year.
ot give it a rest. i asked two questions to the op. why do you feel the need to put your nose into it. you can not answer the questions unless you are the op
how hard is that to understand
