Hello. My family is thinking about moving to STX from the states but we have small kids. We want to make sure there are good doctors for the kids. Overall what can a family from the states expect from a health care standpoint especially for the kids? Are there urgent care facilities or doctors on call for emergencies? Any thoughts on the STX ER? Thanks for any feedback.

There are very good doctors available on STX -- some specialties may be underrepresented if that is needed - I would treat the JFL emergency room as a place for a real emergency not as urgent care.

good selection of pediatricians available on island as well as a pediatric neurologist , psychiatrist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, and Speech Language Pathologist.
If I had a child with.serious medical needs, I'm not sure if I would live here although people do. I know people that fly there kids to Puerto Rico and/or Miami for health care issues.
