I recently accepted a job offer at the Ritz-Carlton in St. Thomas and I will be movng there the end of September or the begining of October. The Hotel will let me stay on property for the first few days until I find permanent housing. I am looking for info on reasonable rents in the Great Bay area within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel told me 70% of the staff lives with in a 10-15 minute walk of the hotel. So it sounds like housing is abundant in that area. Any info anyone could provide would be helpful.
Thanks.

There are several condo complexes I would consider within walking distance: Cowpet East, Cowpet West, and the Anchorage. I do not know what the rents are in that area. If you have that little time, have someone at the hotel help you out by having an Island Trader ready for you when you step off the plane, and start calling right away. Good luck.

Michael, MsChuy suggestion is great - get to calling the listing in the Island Trader as soon as you get here... the people who work there should know the immediate area - so can tell you which are close to Ritz... often they are listed by area. Make appointments and check the places out. The Condo Complexes are in walking distance... if you can't find a place there try to find one close enough that maybe a co-worker that drives can pick you up along the main road while on their way to work.

You also have the Anchorage and Cabrita Point which are pretty close to the Ritz and less expensive that Cowpet East and Cowpet West. I agree with Islander, a co-worker could easily pick you up on the main road.
