I am a 22 year old young woman getting ready to move to St. Thomas this October or November (by myself). I'm planning on working for a Scuba company and possibly bartending as well. Could anyone give me advise on where to live? I don't plan on shipping my car, but I have thought about purchasing a motor bike when I arrive. I would want to be close to the water, but away from the tourist areas. Safety is a concern as well. I would prefer roommates. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you,
Lauren

InMackin-

It's like deja vu. I'm also a young female moving alone to St. Thomas in Sept. to pursue a career in diving. Perhaps we can help each other out. I have yet to find a place to live and am seeking possible roommates. Please feel free to e-mail me and perhaps we can chat about living situations/diving oppurtunities.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Lindsay

Email me at bob_mcverry@yahoo.com when you make your final plans. I am 23 year old teacher on the island and I went through the moving process this past January. Plus, I might know of new young teachers or people in need of roommates such as myself.

That sounds great! So, have you bought your plane ticket, yet? I was planning on buying one in a month or so. I think getting a job gets easier in October and November during the busy season. Are you a divemaster? I am only advanced, so I think I may want to bartend, too. It's a good way to earn fast cash. Do you know the exact date you will be arriving? How much do you think rent is going to be? How much are you wanting to spend? What part of the island would you like to live on? I think I want to be on the east coast. They have a lot of dive shops over there. If you want, you can email me at lauren_mackin@hotmail.com. Sorry for the 20 questions. Look forward to your reply!

Lauren
