Moving to St Thomas...
I am from Detroit and would like to move to St. Thomas next year.
I am a married, educated woman and would like advice for newbies like us...
I have done my research and realize that cost of living is high and pay low, but is it really that bad?
We will be starting over...new...when we come so we are a little nervous as to what to expect.
Some advice would be wonderful!
What are the predominant nationalities there?
I am America, but...are foreigners well accepted there?
I would love some input...is there a chat-room somewhere for St Thomas?
Drop me an email at misssnyder@msn.com

"I am from Detroit and would like to move to St. Thomas next year."
A PMV is always a great idea. I did it without one and would do it differently, had I to do it over again.
"I am a married, educated woman and would like advice for newbies like us..."
This is the place for that!
"I have done my research and realize that cost of living is high and pay low, but is it really that bad?"
No, it isn't so bad...if it were, we wuldn't have about 55K people living here! Haha!
"We will be starting over...new...when we come so we are a little nervous as to what to expect."
Then you will definitely want to make a Pre-Move Visit. It helps a lot.

Approx. 80% of the populataion is born here. This includes mostly West Indian and French-decendants. The other 20% is widely varied. White, black, Asian, East Indian. Many from the States.
"I am America, but...are foreigners well accepted there?"
Yes.
"I would love some input...is there a chat-room somewhere for St Thomas?"
Not that I am aware of...but maybe!
