I'm moving to St. Croix from Colorado, taking a position with V.I.P.D.. I'm looking for a place to live, preferrably in the east end. I'm hoping for a house sitting job, or a long term rental. Suggestions?

I also wanted to add since it's not apparent in the posting title about the house sitting effort.....I'm efforting....wow, poor grammar, sorry about that.

The house sitting deal is going to be hard to find before you even get to the Island. Those are the coveted "gigs". You need to have your feelers out for a long time before you hit a good one.

Not to burst your bubble but in the islands "House Sitters" are generally called "Renters". While there are always exceptions very few homeowners will let someone stay in their house for free unless they are relatives or very close friends and even then they may want to charge rent.

Thank you AFriend and AllIslands....maybe I should have said that I certainly never envisioned a "free" scenario. I thought rent would certainly be a part of it, maybe with an exchange kind of feature built in. Thank You both for the input though, it is appreciated.
