Hi I've been reading some of the topics and concerns in reagrds to the "big move" on island.. I found them extremely helpful.
Although I've been on island many times this year there is never a dull moment.
My boyfriend has been on island a little over a year now and it helped a great deal with part of the adjustment period. So if I can help anyone with any questions in regards to the move or places to go give a shout.

i was wondering if there are apartments in town c.a. 1 bedroom or studiosme and my girlfriend will be moving down in aug we have an apartment on the northside waitng 4 us but i would like to live in town or close to the hospital

Hey! I was reading what you wrote and it turns out I'm actually in the exact same situation. My boyfriend's been living down there for almost a year and a half now and I'm going to be moving down in September. I want to live in my own place though, which I'm worried could make things tricky. When you made the move, did you find your own place, and if so, was it affordable to do without roommates to share the cost? Also, as silly as it is, I'm a little worried about moving down there and meeting people. As nice as my boyfriend's friends are, I don't want to be dependent on him for friends. I live in DC right now and given the number of single 20-somethings here, it's been super easy to meet people- I'm almost spoiled. How easy would you say it is to meet people down there? Thanks in advance for any advice!
