Moving information
Hello,
My husband and I are planning on moving to either STT or STX in four years. In that time we will do investigation into neighborhoods and jobs and such, but for now I was interested in knowing what were some thoughts on college? My daughter will most likely be coming with us and she will have just graduated high school. Any information on how the colleges are would be greatly appreciated. Again I know four years is a while away, but times flies and it will be here sooner than we think.
there is only one college on each island. i know people who are going there and who have graduated from there. the biggest complaints are 3 semesters of foreign language and classes not always offered at convenient times for those who work a job
There is only one university, the University of the Virgin Islands. Some programs, of course, are better than others and not all are accredited. You need to contact them for print info and survey their website. It all depends on what she wants to study.
Of course there's nothing to prevent you daughter from pursuing her course of studies at a college or university back on the mainland. Our housekeeper's son goes to the University of Wyoming.
So, your daughter should investigate colleges much the same as she would if you hadn't relocated to the USVI's. If circumstances allow she should choose her college based on her areas of interest not on solely on the fact that the college is on the same island.
Thank you everyone for your information. I will look into the college and what they have to offer further. I do not think she is going to be the one child who wants to leave us so that is why we are gathering information. The other three are already set. LOL there is always one.
Just a small point but it's the University of the Virgin Islands, not a college.
Campus's on stx and stt.
