I'm planning on moving to the virgin islands for three months (january to march). I'm 21 years old and ideally, i want to find a lively place to live where i can work as a bartender or waiter or some other entry level service job. How difficult will it be for me to do this? I would really appreciate any ideas or insight into this situation? Thanks a lot!!

Dear Ashton,

Similar questions have been asked and answered many times over on this forum, so do check out some of the previous posts. The bottom line is that you should come here with money to keep you going for a while and then hit the streets as soon as possible to look for a job. January through March is the middle of high season and most of the good service jobs will probably have already been filled but I'm sure you'll be able to find something if you really work at it!

Hi Aston,
I think I gave you this link from the other forum that you posted this question on.... so welcome to the board. Did you decide not to go to New Zealand as you also posted on that forum that you were going to be in NZ Jan-Mar (difficult commute to work huh 🙂 ) So if you are coming here you will finds loads of good advise here - happy reading.

I'm still trying to decide between the two. If it is as hard to find work as it sounds, then I might chose NZL...but there's something about the virgin islands that sounds like it would be exactly what i'm looking for. Thanks again for all your help!!
