YES! Wear one, or you'll be pulled over and ticketed in a flash!

Also, there is a neurosurgeon who is on island only occasionally. If you need some work when he is in Florida, you are out of luck.

P.S. Make sure you have good insurance and med-evac, too.

I suffered a traumatic brain injury a year and a half ago on my Harley because I was wearing one of those little beanie-cap helmets (with a sticker on the inside that said "Novelty helmet - Not to be used on any motorized vehicle, highway or off-road use) when I got hit while passing an off-duty cop. He apparently thought it would be funny to swerve towards me as I passed him, but mis-calculated how close I was and took me out. 6 days in intensive care, missing 4 1/2 months out of my memory had to re-learn how to walk, talk, ABC's, tie shoes, etc. Even though the helmets that the rentals give you are DOT certified, they are still of the beanie cap style. Make them give you a full face, as driving on the left takes some getting used to. (I had lived here about 6 years when I got hit, and I still couldn't avoid it)
