Mosquitos vs Fleas
Okay~I see that I have to be extremely prepared before I come over regarding the mosquitos....now..how are the fleas? Is my cat going to try and catch a boat back to the continental???
Depends on where you live, mostly. We use Brewers Yeast in thier food (a teaspoon every few days when you think about it) and it keeps the fleas away very well.
Pamela.
I ues Frontline on my dog and cat and it works perfect. Never even seen a flea, and they are both outdoors quite a bit, and my house is basically outdoors.
Frontline and heartworm monthly and your animal should be healthy and happy. My "kids" adjusted way better than me.
Thanks for the feedback~my move is 2 yrs off and I am already compiling a list of must haves and throwing things away. It is the only way to keep my dream in the forefront!
Autumn,
IMHO, the best way to keep the kitties flea free is to keep them as indoor only cats. It also ensures they won't be hit by cars, get into fights with feral dogs or cats (and there are too many of them here), get exposed to feline luekemia, get caught in a humane trap and taken to the shelter, get covered in burrs and hitchhikers from wandering through the undeveloped fields and lots, or wind up visiting the home of someone that doesn't like cats or doesn't feel that they are members of someones' family.
My kitties are my kids, and all of them are healthy (not a flea on them - I think because we bombed the house a day before moving in with them), well played with, a little too well fed, and content to sit and look out our windows instead of actually going out there.
Just a different view of the best way to keep a cat healthy and safe.
