More HD coming to Dish customers?

Dish successfully launched Echostar XVI after much delay. It is said to have 5 Spotbeams for Puerto Rico which should help us in the VI.
They are currently positioning it to the 61.5 orbital slot. Then a few months of testing before it goes online.
I'm not sure what it will offer yet,... but it should be GOOD news for Dish customers.

ILS Communications Team
We have had a successful mission with the ILS Proton Rocket, carrying the EchoStar XVI satellite built by Space Systems/Loral for EchoStar. We have had confirmation that the satellite separated from the vehicle on schedule at 10:43pm EST, or 03:43 GMT, 9 hours and 12 minute after liftoff.
Everything occurred as planned with ignition, shutdown and separation of the Proton’s first three stages. Then the Breeze M upper stage with the satellite continued the mission, igniting five times, and then releasing the satellite into transfer orbit."
It will only give you more HD if you install another dish as most new installs since June 2010 have been aimed SW to pick up transponders on 110 and 119. To pick up 61.5 you would need a dish pointed almost straight up toward the SW.
Hey Sky, what's up with WSEEP? Good news about new channels. Thanks.
New channels are nice but what's up with CBS out of PR. Undependable! No Tuesday night primetime. Will they be rebroadcasting NCIS and NCIS-LA? The Dish Tech support chat says that WSEEP might be down for as much as a week.
A week!! Good thing I still have All American Direct!
Definitely keep All American Direct for now. True NY feeds. For those having issues with WSEEP keep calling Dish. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. They are aware of the problem and hopefully close to a fix.
Yes 61.5 would require a second dish but for many it is not a problem. Lots of stateside installs use a wing antenna. I've had a second 30 inch dish on 61.5 for yrs now. The difference is that soon it might be more worth having. The other possible scenario could be that they move some channels to 61.5 opening up more transponder space on sat 110/119 for us........ Any way you look at it, another satellite with the VI in it's footprint is good news.
