More AA Flights STX/SJU ???
Has anybody heard if AA is going to add any STX/SJU flights to meet demand in Feb/Mar/Apr? Right now there are only three and they leave at 7:40am, 2:15pm, and 6:30pm. The 7:40am flight(#4825) was originally scheduled for 10:55am when I booked it months ago. AA has jerked us around in the past on schedule changes but never to this early. Just curious if anybody knows what kind of lead in time AA gives if any before new flight are implemented.
If I'm stuck with 7:40, I'm going to try and get on the 7:20am Miami flight then on to Detroit. On the bright side we'd get in at 220pm instead of 1035pm. They're FF miles tickets so hopefully they don't hose me or tell me no.
There's good news and bad news regarding your schedule change. AA, by policy, will put you on any of its other STX-SJU flights with a connection on to MIA, then DTW for no charge because your schedule change exceeds 60 minutes. Now, in terms of rerouting on to the nonstop STX-MIA flight, that will depend on you getting a friendly agent. AA has a pretty good track record on these things, the key is that there must be availability on the STX-MIA flight you want. You can check availability by attempting to book that flight yourself on AA.com. Best bet is to call, be very polite, and hope for the best. The fact that you purchased the ticket with miles should not be an issue.
Generally, airlines will give relatively little lead time when it comes to adding seasonal capacity, because they like to be able to have as much information as possible regarding passenger loads.
I thought tha Jet Blue was taking all of the Eagle's routes?
We have 2 jets a day now to Miami which I personally prefer to the 6-9 flights we used to have to SJU. With Jetblue adding in the one daily flight to SJU I wouldn't expect any additional Eagle flights in the near future, especially seeing as AA is bankrupt. Hopefully you can get on the jet directly to Miami, good luck, and if you don't get the answer you want from the first agent you talk to wait a day and try again!

FF mileage tickets are very easy to change as long as the FF seats are available. Go on AA.com and search for FF mileage availability for the routes you want and call them up if the STX-MIA-DTW routing is available for FF tickets.
