Mister B Barge Seized, Traffic Snarls
Mister B Barge Seized, Traffic Snarls
BY LYNDA LOHR — JANUARY 25, 2016
Barge traffic between St. John and St. Thomas has suffered intermittent snarls since Jan. 22, when according to court records the Mister B barge was seized at Enighed Pond commercial port because owner Boyson Inc. failed to make loan payments.

Well, this is going to screw up people getting back and forth in our high tourist season unless remaining ferry companies get their act together with a schedule that works.
Thing is, Mr. B held about twice as much load as the others. And it was a lot faster. This really stinks. Pretty sure the two that are running are just going to fill and go all day long. They'll do their best, but Mr. B is going to be sorely missed. Hopefully something gets figured out and it can get back into operation.
Actually the General wasnt running on Saturday either.
The General wasn't running the last time I was over about almost two weeks ago either. I was on the Mr. B both ways that day. Man, I am going to miss the Mr. B!
Absolute total S-Show last weekend!!!! We went over to STJ on Saturday... the captain started going TORTOLA!!! NO JOKE! I even have a GPS screenshot as my STJ friends were waiting for us and didn't believe me lol. We were all the way around Two Brothers and were parallel with Honeymoon and then I realized and was like... UH where are we going?? My friend went to the wheelhouse and there were a bunch of people yelling at him to turn around! Cant make this up!
So then because of that hot mess they were running an hour late for the ferry back - or at least the 6:00 was. Then when we were loading, they were going down the lines picking what cars they wanted where. Then all the workers started yelling at each other. So now theres drunk tourists, locals wanting to get home and the rest of us just laughing our asses off. It was by far the worst I've ever seen in terms of organization. Ahhh I miss STT!!!!!!!
Love City has repositioned their barge from SubBase to ply the Red Hook/Cruz Bay passage so there will now be three barges running to compensate for the loss of the Mister B.
