No it doesn't and I will definitely be scanning the crowds for young ladies who look like her when I am in the Tutu and Lockhart Gardens areas later this afternoon.

Let's all hope and pray that they find Laquina safe and sound -- as I know all the good people on this board will be doing.

Oh, I had not seen it (was off-island).
I will hope for the best for Laquina...
Did you all hear about the case on STX? Apparently there was some back story there but this one does not sound the same.
I pray it is a custody issue or something less....well, you all know what I mean.

This is so scary, today is the first I've heard of this. I'm praying that she has already been found.

This is the updated news article:

Feds, V.I. police press on with search for missing girl
By JOSEPH TSIDULKO
Tuesday, April 10th 2007

ST. THOMAS - Federal law-enforcement officers and V.I. police continued the search on Monday for a missing 12-year-old Bovoni girl.

Laquina Hennis, a Lockhart Elementary student, was last seen on Friday in the Oswald Harris Court housing community in Estate Thomas, where she was visiting her sister.

The Estate Bovoni girl was wearing a pink dress and blue slippers before she disappeared, according to police.

Hennis was reported missing just past midnight on Saturday, according to the police blotter, an unofficial record of calls made to emergency dispatchers.

The FBI's Safe Streets task force, U.S. Marshals and agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were assisting police with the search, Police Commissioner James McCall said.

"They have been working around the clock on this one," McCall said. "We've interviewed the mother and talked to a lot of people."

The police commissioner asked that anyone with information about the missing girl call the department's Investigations Bureau at 715-5512, the commissioner's office at 715-5506 or 911.

So sad, they have found the body of a small person. Today they will determine if it is her. http://www.onepaper.com/stthomasvi/?v=d&i=&s=News:Local&p=1176609701
Parents have to be more diligent when iyt comes to the protection of their children. I see little kids, as early as 6 o'clock in the morning, walking to school by themselves. What are their parents thinking?

Ronnie's news is indeed sad and for the parents doubly sad.

However, I, unlike you do not think this thread has to continue with updates. You who live on island can get your updates from the local newspaper and media.

Allow this young lady to rest in peace.

I agree promo. Things like this spread like wildfire! yesterday I heard of the death of a childhood friend. Freddie Woods. my doctor told me of the discovery and that it was not determined the cause as yet. That was around3 pm. By 7:30 last night I heard he had committed suicide. Shortly after that I heard someone shot him. I saw his brother John an hour later and after offering my condolences, asked how? He said it was a heart attack. Where did the rumors come from? It is so bad for people to spread them until hearing the true story. The Woods/DeJongh family hopefully will grieve in peace. Yes, he was cousin to anther childhood friend in the news everyday these days, Governor John DeJongh. May Freddie rest in peace.

Nice post Trade, my sympathies too..............................

Ronnie, I was just discussing your good friend Freddie a little while ago with a mutual good friend who knew and loved him also. My friend was telling me some wonderful and hilarious stories about him.

Freddie sounded like a person who lit up the room with his humor and incredible Joie De Vivre. I understand he was only 48 years old. I am also very sorry to hear of his passing.
