Miracle on Main Street
So, did anyone else go? I thought it was terrific. The boats were decked out and the participants had a lot of energy. The stores seemed busy. I got to sing "Ho, ho, ho, how will Santa get here?" at least 5 times...
A lot of stateside people don't realize that Christmas spirit is very strong in the VI.:D

We went and this year our little guy was big enough to appreciate the boats and music.. A lot of oohs and ahhs from him so I think it was a success. Plus the candy the boaters were throwing out made him happy
I went. I love to see the tiny kids playing the steel pans. Gives me hope that those kids are on a good path, and will hopefully stay the course. They work very hard to learn all that music and perform until late at night after a school day. The dedication from the instructors is just amazing.
Looks like most Statesiders parked themselves in the bars.
Next public party will be Christmas morning at Emancipation Garden. "Christmas won't be Christmas without Electric Slide!" See you on the bandstand!

I didn't see that at all. Saw many of our "stateside friends on waterfront and Main St. Then again I didn't go in any bars..
At the Sugar Estate PO this morning, the long line of people was treated to carolers who were first in the back and then came out into the main area to sing their hearts out. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!! Accompanied by a solo guitarist, their rendition of all the traditional carols was simply superb and a true joy.
My least favorite post office because it's so busy.
Who were the carolers? One of the employees at that post office is in a group. He played the best music but somebody complained. That post office used to have the best party on island thanks to him.
The postal clerk told me they were, "The Voices of Love" and they do this every year. Toss in some more negatives, Miss Scrooge. The holiday season for me is generally NOT happy because of Christmases past but their music today brought back GOOD memories from way back for me and the fact that you don't care for that particular PO is irrelevant.
How busy a post office is should be relevant on a relocation forum, IMO. Sugar Estate, Tutu, and Frenchtown are usually very busy so I mail my packages from Havensight or Main St.
The thread is about the Christmas spirit not the location and convenience of a darned PO. Bah humbug, be happy, train an albatross.

(tu):D Now THEY would make excellent percussionists for a choir!
