I'm thinking about moving to St. Thomas next October for a season. Is it hard to find seasonal work as a massage therapist? Can anyone suggest some beach resorts or spas that would be worth looking into?

Lizzy: I believe you have to have a massage therapist license through the Dept of Licensing and Consumer Affairs. You should come down and look around at the various hotels and spas. To answer your question below, you would probably not be allowed to put your chair on a hotel beach, but you might if you work for a concessionaire. The late Renaissance had a massage tent on their beach, for example. A place in Port of Sale Mall was advertising that they were going to have chair massage, but I haven't heard if it has worked out. If you are coming for one season only, you'll probably want to work for an existing group as getting started is probably the hardest thing.
