Anyone know of anyone using them? I saw some discussion in the old messages but nothing for awhile now. With so much improvement in manufactured/modular homes, thought maybe there's been some activity in this area on island now. With manufactured, I'm thinking it would help with the little contractor problem, too.
Would love to hear if anyone knows of individual people doing this, if at all!

There are quite a few old posts about building companies that are starting to come out here that do prefab houses that are suppose to be able to withstand high hurricane winds. Try doing a search or maybe someone here will remember all the names and websites.

If you are on STT call C.J. Floyd at CILCIA Builders 340-998-9677. He has built a couple or more of the Deltec "round houses". A very nice guy.

I've only seen/heard of the round houses down here, in terms of prefabs.
I have seen quite a few really interesting prefabs online lately (architecturally interesting, thoughtful design, just plain COOL) but didn't pursue any of them because each had design features that were hurricane-risky.
