I just tried to call Lee Fleming at the Managed Freight number and got a recording that they "are not accepting phone calls as their office is permanently closed". What the?!?! I was all set to use them due to the glowing recommendations I'd heard on here. Anyone have another great company to ship from Ohio to STX that they would recommend?

Thanks!

I used top of the line to get my car here, but they seemingly worked with managed freight.

Thanks -- I have a call and an e-mail into them. I was also able to talk to Lee's brother Barry Fleming at Fleming's, and he seems very helpful so far. I'll keep everyone posted...

I met a guy today who works for Brandon Transfer and they do all the moves for HESS. - It's another option if you need it.

I called MF a month or so ago and they told me that they we halting all shipments of personal good and only doing commercial and industrial cargo. So i called around and found Caribtrans out of Miami. They have offices in STT and STJ and have just opened one here on STX due to MF closing up. Matthew is the guys name and is from north carolina and has jumped through hoops for me. he is on STX now and really good prices. My container and car picked up in Alabama and dropped in C'sted with all things handled, is $3300. Thats cheaper by 1500 than any other quote I got.
his Number is 340-244-5367 and tell him Lance from Alabama sent you!

For two years Managed Freight has serviced the business and residential community of St. Croix with freight brokerage and cargo logistics services. During that time, we have done our best to be good to our clients, and they have been good to us. We have welcomed many families to the island, as well as seen a few depart for new ventures. Recently, I have been invited to become involved in a full time opportunity in a client’s freight program. With God’s guidance and my family’s support, the decision has been made to terminate business operations at Managed Freight as of November 30, 2009.

I encourage my Chamber members to continue planning and being innovative, promote good client service, and up sell products and services. These lean times will pass, and you will emerge smarter business owners because of this experience. I wish you all best success in your businesses, and personal happiness into 2010.

Thanks to those who called on Managed Freight for service – we appreciate you. Happy Holiday’s to ALL!

Thanks, Juanita. I figured it was something positive (for Lee), as his office girl went to Fleming's with Lee's brother. Good luck to him!
