malvertisement attack on vi moving center
Every time I open this forum, I get a notification from my symantic security that it has blocked an attack from islands-now.org -- a malvertisemtnt website redirect.
Has anyone else received this warming? -- and what to do about it?
Interesting. I haven't experienced anything like that!
funny.. I was about to post the same thing
yep, every time I come on here the same thing happens to me
been going on a couple days
Nope. never had that happen.
I have Symantec, specifically Norton 360... Every now and then I do get the notice, and also when I open the page for the St. Croix Source...
Sometimes the AV program will "see" the advertisements on said pages as an attack... I just dismiss it as the AV doing its job, so I rather have anything blocked instead of my laptop turned to a paperweight...
I just got the warning and this isn't the first time.
I started getting that alert a few days ago when I go to the St Croix Source page. But haven't had it happen here.
I've also gotten the alert a number of times. Norton 360 identifies "www.islands-now.net (66.40.5.43,80)" as the "attacking computer". Most likely it's a banner ad that's doing something weird and the security software blocks it out of an abundance of caution - hopefully nothing malicious (false flag).
No worries, www.islands-now.net is the domain that delivers the advertising for VIMovingCenter.com.
My IDS also is freaking out, it blocks the site for 600 seconds, then allows traffic.
