Mailing boxes to a PO
I'll be moving to STT in about seven weeks. I"ll move boxes using USPS. I've read I should set up a PO BOX before hand. Does the mail service drop boxes at a PO BOX. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
Barbra- I'm moving to STT in 11 weeks and I've been using the USPS office to send 2-3 boxes a week to my father-n-laws POBox in St. Thomas. All they do is put a slip in his box to notify him that he has some packages to pick up at the service desk. So, yes the Post office can deliver large boxes to a POBox.
As far as setting up a POBox before you go....I don't think that is possible. I asked the same question on this message board and not only did I find out that a POBox is hard to come by on the island, but most people set up a mailbox through a mail service company, like MailBoxes Etc. or I heard about a place called Redhook Mail Service. I'm lucky because I have a temperary arrangement with my father-n-law to share his POBox, but after I get there I figure out what I'll do.
Good luck.

Hope he is picking them up, as they send them back if not picked up in a timely manner! There used to be something called General Delivery. You should check and see if they do that still.

Thanks for asking Ronnie, I talk to him every weekend and he confirms what he received with me. It has been working out so far!
