Hello!
My son has moved to St Thomas and though its been a tough 3 months of ups and downs things are settling down. Does anyone know the deal with mail order? Do companies ship clothing and other things to St Thomas? How efficient and affordable is this? Or should he just stick with K Mart and Home Depot?
Thanks for any help!

Hello Lauren,

Many of the mail order catelogs will ship to the VI like Sears, JC Penny... Some on-line vendors have the VI as a ship to also like Amazon, Gap. There are some places that won't ship or won't ship large items, like Walmart that has a weight/size restriction.
So yes its an option to do mail order. As for costs; a number of stores will do free shipping for over $50 and things or the sort, otherwise it completely depends on the weight of the item(s) being shipped.

I really appreciate this info. With your clues I found out that Crate & Barrel, Eddie Bauer, LLBean and Frans Wicker also ship. I'm sure there wont be a lot of off-island buying, but its good to know, especially about Amazon. Thanks!
