Is there are update on either the sale or potential reopening?  I don't see the listing in MLS any longer.

The last news I read was from George Dudley an attorney. From July 31 2019

Interest in golf is in decline and will continue to be. Maybe they should offer it as a development project and build condos there.

They already have condos there , many of the owners bought them because of the golf course.

The property package that was advertised had plenty of other land for development that was not golf course land.

It would make a great park with walking and biking trails, benches, dog park area.

Last time I went past Mahogany Run Golf Course a few weeks ago I saw a surveying crew working.  Is anything happening with the property?

Anything new on Mahogany Run Golf Club sale or reopening?  Seems a sale was close a couple of years back, but now short of the Govt stepping in as a tourism project, I can't imagine it will ever see golfers again.

Golf courses rarely make money without associated real estate sales premiums, so I can't imagine short of a deep pocketed golf enthusiast or the Govt., how this ever reopens as a golf course.

One of the nice benefits of living on St. Croix are the 3 golf courses (one of which is a 9 hole).  Golf has become a meaningful part of my retirement social life and the membership costs are reasonable.  I do agree it’s got to be almost impossible to make money on a golf course without some subsidies, and that totally discounts the opportunity costs of the land.

Yes, I am jealous of all the golf courses on STX.  Have considered a day trip to try out one of the courses.

One of the considerations when purchasing our home (albeit a minor one) was the proximity to Mahogany Run GC.  Fortunately, we purchased in Peterborg and not in Mahogany Run itself.

The current owners must have some deep pockets to be able to just let it sit vacant and in disrepair.  It would cost many millions to bring it back into playable condition let alone rebuilding the clubhouse that the hurricanes pretty much destroyed.

Glad I'm not a condo owner over there looking at the eyesore of what used to be a beautiful green golf course.

That's better than zero on STT.  I'd be happy with one.
