I am thinking about retiring in St. Thomas and was wondering if Mahogany Run offered year round golf memberships. If not, do people that live on the island get a reduced rate?

Golf is available year round and locals have a different rate than visitors... as far as I recall. I will have this information double checked. Also St. Croix has several golf courses - so perhaps you can make weekend golf trips to that sister island. Will let you know what I find out.

Ok, Yes you can play golf year round. Locals do get a lower rate - HOWEVER to get a resident/local rate you have to have lived on the island for 1 year + - and must show valid Virgin Islands drivers license are other proof of permanent residency.

I have a local discount card for Mahogany Run. I just showed them a bill with my local address and a business card since two years running I still don't have a V.I. drivers license.

I need to spend some quality time at the driving range before trying to play a round again...

Is there a driving range at Mahogany Run? If so, are all clubs allowed or is it a shorter (irons only) range? Do they have a putting green?

Guess I could call them and ask but it's more fun to ask here 🙂

They have both a driving range and putting green and allow all clubs on the DR. It has a net. If you want you can go to Mahagony Run just to hit at the range you can.

The golf course is open to the public, you can bring your clubs, or rent theirs (Calloways or Titliest DCI's), use the driving range and putting green (as long as you buy a bucket of balls or have a tee time), as well as the restaurant and bar, and, since the Ginn Corp. bought it, there isn't a "local discount" like it used to be. Now you have to be a member to get a discounted rate. In order to become a member, you must give proof of residency (driver's license, voter's registration, phone bill, elec bill, etc.) and pay $50 per year. If you are not a member, you pay the same rate as anyone else, visitor or local. My wife works there and gets to play for free, but, as a spouse, I still have to pay full rates, unless I pay the $50/year member dues. www.mahoganyrungolf.com
