looking for work as a stone mason
After looking through every employment listing i could find on the net, (not much out there) i thought it might be worth while to post my inquiry here.
I am an experienced stone mason who is looking for work in the VI. Does anyone know of any connections I can explore? I am also a PC repair tech and a recreational programming manager, but these positions usually pay a fraction of what an experienced mason makes. I am working toward civilian pilot ratings because i would like to fly the float planes between the islands for the rest of my life (im 30 and used to be a pilot in the Air Force). I am extremely serious about moving to the VI.
Thanks.
Joe
It is unlikely you will find work from off-island. You'll need to plan a 2-3 week trip to check things out.
There is some stone mason work on the islands, but mostly concrete block is used.Local mason get between $1.00 to $1.25 per block to set. As for float planes Seaborne fly's float planes, but you will have to have a rating on their aircraft first.Miami has many places to get a float plane training.Come down and see if you like the pay, housing and lifestyle.
