You might want to get a resume together & mail it (noting when you'll be arriving) to the major jewelers here.
You can post your resume (not in all caps though) here. I think there are other online sites to check too but the names escape me at the moment. Good luck!

Sorry about the all caps thing, will watch it next time, did't mean to yell
No, I just meant on your resume. Good luck. Hope somebody comes up with the links to the job search places. With all the jewelers here, I'd think you wouldn't have too much a problem.
As stated in my first post, Yes I have been there, Really enjoyed the Islands, It's people.co-workers,places, etc. However had huge responsibilities back home IE-house payments, wife, kids, Still have the kids, However all the other baggage is gone.
Probably the reason for my post is just how small the island really is?
D.I. stats because I departed the Island without a 2 week notice I am ineligible for re-hire, They knew my situation at home and were helpful in many ways, However I felt if they were a little more forthright in their commissions and the fact that they are 30 days behind IE- get paid in January for November sales, I would have planed a little differently.
bottom line will my past with D.I. haunt me and will I be wasting my time trying to return ( does one company have that much impact on my future employment on the Island)
Thanks for all your input both positive an/or negative, I would really like to return!
Thanks again
Henry
Hey,
It's not as though you are "black flagged" and nobody will hire you. Most likely, if you try a company such as Cardow, Azure, etc, you will have no problem. If you choose to list DI on your resume, I would not list it on your references. Also, you may want to consider volunteering the information of why you left suddenly and are now back during an interview in case there is a close relationship between a hiring manager at the new company and the hire manager at DI.
My hubby works for one of the big cos. and my sense is that there are so many retail jewelry employees on-island with "issues", that I am sure your failure to give appropriate notice will not blacklist you with other employers. As long as you didn't steal, you should be fine. I would agree with Liz that the best defense is a good offense; tell them in advance and soften the blow (family obligation, etc.).
Thanks again for all the information.
