We had ours manufactured and installed by Winston Joseph who has a welding business in Glynn.

His number is 340 778-9891. I do not believe he is in the phone book and for some reason you have to use the area code.

He did a fabulous job and it has worked perfectly for 6 years. We priced out gates at 4 other places and Winston came in at nearly 1/2 the price of the others. I would strongly recommend him He uses Viking Gate Operators which operate on DC power and the batteries are charged via and AC connection.

STC Condos is getting ready to install new swing arm type gates and will be removing the sliding type. They , at least the gearing mechanism, will be for sale, they give us a lot of trouble but only because they are home quality and not designed to be used hundreds of times a year

On STX, E&F Gates (Elvis and Frankie) 340-778-0632, and Iron Lion, 340-692-1097, both fabricate and install gates and install and repair operators. And I would definitely recommend that the system you choose has a battery backup. One of the popular residential brands I see installed does not.

Thank you again gonetropo , I will be calling him , I will probably need a mason person to build a structure before I can get the gate . Can you recommend any mason person/people that are good and reliable but not too expensive, even better if it is someone that I can work with it. I will also be building a masonry garage with wood roof , so definitely going to need help with a good mason . I am trying to cut some corners to have a realistic budget. I was told that for a house is calculated to be about $200 sq ft.. If that is true a 24 x24 garage will cost me $ 115.000 . That is crazy..... Thank you Jorge

Winston did the entire project and manufactured the gate to our specifications along with about 30' of fence that matches the sliding gate.

He installed the concrete pad and steel runner, footings for the gate/fence, and the Viking K2 controller. We already had concrete block pilasters on each side of the driveway. I supplied the 120v power on a separate circuit to the controller.

So, the entire job including a gate for the entrance to our pool plus two hand held remote controls was $5800. The next best price was close to $11,000 and another for $13,000. I went and saw two of his jobs and they both professionally done and the people were very pleased with them. It was an easy decision to make! Good luck.

I don't know of any concrete contractors as I usually just do it myself. I am sure that someone else on the thread can address that.
