looking for car insurance in STX any suggestions

Go Guardian in Gallows Bay...very reasonable and prompt.

We used Executive Insuurance and were pleased, although we never had a claim so I can't comment on that part.

USAA If you can, if not , I second Marshall Sterling.

I use Marshall & Sterling, and they offer high coverage if you want it. Last time I looked, Guardian only offered low coverage.
A Guardian-insured driver rear-ended me last year, and Guardian paid me for the full damages without any problem (about $2000).
I've never made a claim with Marshall & Sterling, so I can't speak about that.
